etching metal is the first step in some forms of printmaking. it can also serve as the only step needed in making some pretty cool metal images.

by far, this was one of my most favorite things to do when i was in school. it has also got to be one of the more interesting ways of getting an image onto a surface (hell, or full-on etching an image onto anything).
realizing that most people won’t have access to this kind of equipment, i put this here more as inspiration should you ever stumble upon someone with this kind of machinery and the willingness to let you try it out.
